HISTORY OF LITTLE CONNEXIONS

Every business owner's journey begins with a story.



The birth of Little Connexions took place in November 2015 with the aim to fulfill two objectives:


  • To bridge the gap between businesses and consumers
  • To serve as a reliable source for individuals, both local and foreign, seeking products or services.


The story of Little Connexions is a personal one, having been founded by Jhamile Abuabara who is a seasoned entrepreneur, user, and expatriate.

Upon returning to Colombia, I made the decision to embark on the entrepreneurial journey. However, my initial foray into the textile industry did not align with my true essence. Despite having previously believed that this was the path I would enjoy, I soon realized that my true passion lay elsewhere. My thesis work, "e-Business as a Marketing Strategy applied to Business," had always been a dream that I wanted to bring to life. Today, that dream has become a reality, and I am proud to introduce LITTLE CONNEXIONS.


Upon returning to Colombia.

In 2010 after 11 years of living abroad, I came back with the hope of expanding my business and easily selling my products. However, the reality was different. I only managed to sell to my immediate circle of friends and did not generate much revenue. Back then, social media was not as prevalent as it is now. I tried different strategies such as traditional marketing, stationary, word of mouth, fairs, etc., but I could not achieve my objective. Despite investing heavily, I saw no returns. In fact, I hired the production of 1000 brochures, distributed them, and only received one inquiry.

How many entrepreneurs has this story befallen?

From that moment, I realized the potential of having my business online. I set up my own website, but the challenge was to attract traffic to it. After multiple attempts and learning from my mistakes, I familiarized myself with the latest digital tools and started to implement them in my business. It took some time, but it was a valuable opportunity to understand the challenges faced by entrepreneurs when they pursue their dreams.


During this journey, I encountered many entrepreneurs who were facing similar struggles that I once faced. They lacked guidance and support, which inspired me to create Little Connexions to offer advice and help businesses grow.



After numerous attempts and mistakes, I familiarized myself with the latest digital tools and kept up to date with them (I had been using Dreamweaver). Slowly but surely, I started incorporating them into my business and noticed the positive effects. The process was time-consuming but it gave me a valuable opportunity to learn firsthand what challenges entrepreneurs face as they pursue their goals.


Along the way, I encountered many entrepreneurs who were going through similar struggles as I had experienced earlier - a lack of support and guidance. This motivated me to establish Little Connexions, a platform to offer advice and assistance in growing their businesses.


Over the past 9 years, I have gained a wealth of knowledge. My natural curiosity has been instrumental in my journey as an entrepreneur. I believe that the desire to dream and imagine is a critical component in achieving one's goals. My own experience has taught me that when I dream of something, an idea is born and I gradually take steps to make it a reality. If the dream doesn't turn out as expected, I simply see it as an opportunity to learn, grow, and find inner peace.


In my journey, I have participated in various activities, taken courses, attended conferences, joined workshops, and supported my peers and fellow entrepreneurs. I have continuously sought out opportunities to learn and gather experience in different fields.
